According to a new report it doesn’t appear that the stand off regarding Sasha Banks, Naomi and WWE will be ending any time soon.
On the May 16th episode of Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks and Naomi were scheduled to take part in a six-pack challenge to crown a new number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.
However, following an alleged disagreement over creative, Banks and her tag partner left the arena with the show in progress. This led to a frantic re-write of the show, with Becky Lynch and Asuka taking the main event spot.
After WWE released a statement during the show criticising the pair, on the following episode of SmackDown, Michael Cole announced that the two women had been suspended indefinitely. Furthermore, they were stripped of the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
A fresh update from Fightful Select has now suggested that there is “no end in sight” as the standoff between the two parties rumbles on. The report explains that there hasn’t be much, if any, communication between WWE and their two long-serving Superstars.
Fightful add that they have been told by one source that if Banks and Naomi have been suspended without pay as has been reported, their contracts won’t be frozen.
In closing, the report stated that WWE didn’t want to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Titles, but it quickly became clear that there was no other option.
At time of writing there is no news on when the tournament to crown new champions will take place.
Following the announcement of their suspension, WWE removed all Sasha Banks and Naomi merchandise from their online store, as well as taking them out of the ‘Then. Now. Forever’ opening package.
