Freddie Prinze Jr. recently spoke about his plans for his new wrestling promotion and an idea involving Bray Wyatt in an interview on Wrestling With Freddie. The former WWE creative writer mentioned that he had an idea for Bray Wyatt before he returned to WWE, but has since moved on to a new plan, referred to as Plan D.
Despite not wanting to reveal too much about his current project, Prinze shared some details about his original plan, which involved wrestlers Karrion Kross and Scarlett. He also mentioned Bray Wyatt, who was originally intended to be the antagonist in the story, but was eventually switched to the protagonist. Bray Wyatt’s younger brother Taylor (who was known as Bo Dallas in WWE), was also a part of the original plan.
Bray Wyatt’s “Ego”
Prinze explained that Taylor was meant to play the role of the “id” to Bray Wyatt’s “ego,” with the two being inseparable. However, Taylor’s character would not be acknowledged by anyone else in the show, with Wyatt having full conversations with him despite no one else interacting with him. Prinze described this as a unique way to add complexity to the relationship between the two brothers, and an opportunity for Taylor to showcase his acting skills.
In addition to wanting his wrestling promotion to be a Screen Actors Guild show with scripted elements, Prinze also mentioned that he is willing to self-finance the project if he is unable to find the right producer and studio to support it. He mentioned that he has been working on the project “very, very actively,” and has had to constantly adjust his plans due to the hiring and firing of various wrestlers. However, he has stopped mentioning specific wrestlers in order to avoid having them signed by other promotions.
