A former WWE World Champion has shared a heartfelt message following a historic AJ Styles announcement.

A TNA legend and an integral part of turning the wrestling company into a talking point, AJ Styles is now all set to return to the promotion for the first time since 2014. After an over-decade-long gap, The Phenomenal One is now confirmed to appear on the upcoming TNA Slammiversary 2025 PPV.

Now, ahead of the huge showcase, former two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler), took to X(Twitter) to share what this upcoming weekend meant for the promotion. Acknowledging Styles’ return, he said:

This is a monumental weekend for TNA. Absolutely a team effort from those in and around the ring, everyone behind the scenes, to the best locker room in the world. AJ [Styles] returning to be a part of SLAM, not only solidifies the fruitful relationship with New York, but someone that is so synonymous with TNA coming back, invigorates the fans as much as it excites all of us involved. He didn’t have to do this, but he knows what it means for professional wrestling.

This weekend is the beginning of something big that has been kindling for years now and we all feel it in the air. The preparation and the promotion from everyone involved does not and will not go unnoticed. And now, there’s only one thing left to do.”

The former Dolph Ziggler is also involved in Slammiversary 2025 and is scheduled to be in a 4-way Ladder Match where The Nemeths (Nic and Ryan Nemeth) will defend the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Ex-WWE Champion AJ Styles Opens Up On His Decision To Reject TNA Hall Of Fame

Earlier this year, during his appearance at a Fanatics Live Signing, former WWE Champion and TNA veteran AJ Styles opened up on his decision not to accept the offer for a Total Nonstop Action Wrestling Hall of Fame induction, which he received in October 2024:

There was a time they wanted me to come in and be in the TNA Hall of Fame. I just thought it was a little disrespectful at the time, to WWE, to go into the TNA Hall of Fame. I want to go into the Hall of Fame when I’m done wrestling. I think that’s more appropriate. There are a lot of places I’ve wrestled and I’m very thankful that I can be in any Hall of Fame. I’m gonna wait until I’m done.”
