A former WWE Women’s Champion is reportedly set to be one of what will surely be many surprises at the upcoming 2022 Royal Rumble.

Charlotte Flair previously announced on SmackDown that despite being reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion she would be entering the women’s Rumble match and also revealed a whole host of former WWE Superstars would be competing in the bout.

WWE Hall Of Famers Lita and The Bella Twins will join the likes of Kelly Kelly, Summer Rae, and even current IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James in the showpiece match.

Now a new name has been added to that list in a new report – so if you’d rather not know what surprises are in store for the Royal Rumble, this is your warning to stop reading.

PWInsider is reporting that former WWE Women’s Champion Melina is in St. Louis ahead of the Royal Rumble event on Saturday and is expected to be a part of the women’s Rumble match.

Melina was a part of the very popular MNM group in the mid-2000s where she was chiefly manager to the tag team of Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro. In late 2005 Melina began to see more in-ring action and would go on to achieve 5 reigns as a champion between both the WWE Women’s Title and the Divas Championship.

Melina left WWE in 2011 and competed on the independent scene for several years before re-emerging as part of the NWA in 2019. As part of the all-female NWA EmPowerrr show, she unsuccessfully challenged for Deonna Purrazzo’s IMPACT Knockouts Championship.
