Former WWE United States Champion Reportedly Backstage At NXT

NXT call ups

According to a new report from Fightful Select, former WWE United States Champion and assistant to the WWE Champion, MVP was backstage at this past week’s episode of NXT.

The report comes following several reports in recent weeks revealing that current NXT Champions Bronson Reed and Karrion Kross were backstage at recent episodes of RAW and SmackDown whilst both Shotzi Blackheart and Scarlett were reportedly also backstage at recent episodes of Friday Night SmackDown.

The new report from Fightful Select revealed that whilst several new names had been backstage at both RAW and SmackDown, two WWE RAW mainstays had been backstage at recent NXT episodes.

It is reported that both MVP and former North American Champion Damian Priest have been backstage at recent episodes of the Black-and-Gold brand with it not ‘uncommon to see Priest backstage at NXT in recent weeks.

Damian Priest is currently out of action following a back injury that he had previously been working through, whilst MVP continues to feature prominently in WWE RAW’s main event scene as the manager to, the current WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley.

Fightful’s original report adds that it is unknown at this time as to the purpose of MVP’s presence backstage at NXT and that it is very possible that the former IWGP Intercontinental Champion may have simply been visiting.

MVP last wrestled under the NXT brand back in 2010 on the losing end of a match against current AEW mainstay Cody Rhodes, whilst Damian Priest last appeared for WWE’s third brand back in January in a losing effort against, current NXT Champion, Karrion Kross.
