Former WWE United States Champion Contemplates Retirement

Baron Corbin has considered his wrestling future and what he might do after his WWE career.

Baron Corbin‘s return to NXT in late May has propelled his career to new heights, prompting him to contemplate the idea of staying in WWE’s developmental territory for the remainder of his wrestling journey.

In a recent interview on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Corbin discussed his life beyond the ring and how he envisions finishing his wrestling run. With a four-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old, Corbin expressed his desire for his children to witness and remember his wrestling career. However, he acknowledged the internal struggle of potentially ending his career tomorrow, as he genuinely loves what he does.

I have a four-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old, and I’m going like, ‘I want them to see me wrestle and remember it too.’ Then I’m going, ‘Well if it ends tomorrow…’ It’s an internal struggle for sure because I love what I do.

Corbin’s love for travelling and performing in front of diverse audiences has also influenced his consideration of staying in NXT for the long haul. He highlighted the joy of experiencing different cultures, cities, and countries around the world, from Philadelphia to Tokyo to Mexico to Saudi Arabia. The appreciation he receives from fans worldwide and the opportunity to savour different foods, meet new people, and immerse himself in various environments are aspects of his career that he deeply cherishes.

I love travelling. Even my wife is like, ‘Would you stay in NXT for the rest of your career?’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe,’ because I love travelling and performing in front of these different audiences and experiencing the different cultures and the different cities and countries and places throughout the world, from performing in Philly to Texas to Seattle to Toronto to Japan to China to South America to Mexico to Saudi Arabia. All of these countries I’ve been to and experienced the food and the city and the people and the appreciation for what we do. It’s going to be a very hard pill to swallow someday when that is gone because that’s what you appreciate, is for me, those things.

Has Baron Corbin Won Any Titles In WWE?

Having joined the WWE system in 2012 after leaving his football career behind, Baron Corbin has achieved notable success, including a WWE United States Championship reign in 2017.

After spending seven years on the main roster, he made a resurgence on NXT programming this year, engaging in feuds with the likes of Gable Steveson, which culminated in Gable Steveson’s debut match at Great American Bash, Carmelo Hayes, and Bron Breakker.
