Former WWE Superstar Chainz, also known as Brian Lee, is set to make his first wrestling-related appearance in over several years.
Brian Lee’s wrestling career stretches back to the late eighties when he competed in the USWA before heading to WCW in the early nineties. It was in Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain Wrestling where ‘Prime Time’ Brian Lee began to make a name for himself, capturing the promotion’s Heavyweight Championship on two occasions.
In 1994, Lee found himself in the unusual position of being thrust into a feud in the World Wrestling Federation with The Undertaker, all while himself portraying The Fake Undertaker. This led to a main event encounter at SummerSlam 1994 which the real Deadman won.
Brian Lee soon wound up in ECW where he joined Raven in his battles with long-time rival Tommy Dreamer. Lee then went on to join the Triple Threat group with Shane Douglas and Chris Candido before turning on the group and leaving ECW.
Lee found himself back in the WWF in 1997 as Gang Warfare ran rampant in the company. Now known as Chainz, he joined Crush, 8-Ball, and Skull as the Disciples Of Apocalypse. Brian Lee stayed in this role for a year before being released from the company in June 1998.
Since then Brian Lee had a stop in TNA and competed on the independent scene but his last match came in 2014 when he and Lee Condry lost the NWA Southern Tag Team Championship.
Now, in a rare appearance, Brian Lee will be part of The Big Event Convention on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of November in New York City.
Other names touted to be appearing at the event include former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, The Outsiders, Eric Bischoff, JBL, Paul Wight, and Jade Cargill.
