Cassie Lee the former WWE Superstar previously known as Peyton Royce is set to make her return to the ring for the first time in over 12 months.
Her comeback match was announced by the Australian promotion World Series Wrestling ahead of their Full Throttle tour taking place in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney from October 6th to 13th. Lee responded to the reveal via social media writing “Let’s grapple!”
The last time Lee wrestled was for IMPACT Wrestling at Countdown To Rebellion on April 24th of last year where she and her partner, Jessica McKay were Knockouts Tag Team Champions.
Cassie Lee Was Released From WWE In 2021
The duo signed for IMPACT in October of 2021 after they were released from their WWE contracts in April of that year in one of the promotion’s many mass releases during that time.
During her time in WWE, Lee and McKay known as the IIconics were a hugely popular act due to their funny antics and comedic promos. Their biggest achievement came at WrestleMania 35 when they captured the Women’s Tag Team Championships, which they held for 120 days.
When the Aussie duo headed to IMPACT as the IInspiration they won the Knockouts Tag Team Championships on their debut match. After holding them for 133 days they announced they were leaving the promotion and stepping away from the ring “indefinitely.”
Following her departure from wrestling Lee announced that she and her husband Shawn Spears were expecting their first child. Then on January 17th, they welcomed their son Austin Jay into the world.
Speaking of Spears, he will join his wife on the WSW Full Throttle Tour. Other stars announced for the shows are Matt Cardona, Speedball Mike Baily, Alex Shelly, Chris Sabian, Brian Cage, Frankie Kazarian, Brian Pillman Jr, Steph De Lander, Eric Redbeard and CJ Perry.
