Former WWE Superstar Teases Boxing Debut

A former WWE Superstar and United States Champion has taken to social media to tease a debut in the boxing world, saying it’s “coming soon.”

Kalisto, previously of the Lucha House Party, took to Twitter to post a short video clip that showed him wearing boxing gloves. The video used his wrestling name prior to joining WWE of Samuray Del Sol.

As well as the post, Kalisto added the hashtag of Triller. Triller Fight Club is the company that recently promoted the hugely successful Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren fight in April. In that bout, Paul knocked out MMA star Askren in less than two minutes with Paul reportedly earning up to $75 million for the fight.

Kalisto joined WWE in 2013 as part of NXT. He made his television debut for the black and gold brand in May 2014. Shortly thereafter he joined fellow luchador Sin Cara to become the Lucha Dragons. Together the Dragons won the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way in September.

Kalisto then made his main roster debut on Raw in March 2015. The Lucha Dragons took part in the very first tag-team Elimination Chamber match two months later. The two men could not repeat their feat from NXT and never held main roster tag team gold.

After Sin Cara was ruled out of action with a shoulder injury, Kalisto found success as a solo act. He traded the United States Championship with Alberto Del Rio in early 2016. Kalisto defeated Del Rio for his second reign as champion at the 2016 Royal Rumble.

Triller Fight Club’s next event is scheduled to be held on June 6th. Headlining the night’s action will be two men so far undefeated in their boxing careers as Teofimo Lopez fights George Kambosos Jr. There is no official word yet when the former WWE Superstar will enter the boxing ring.
