Former WWE Superstar Paige Banned By Twitch

Former WWE Superstar Paige has had her Twitch account suspended due to a copyright violation.

Paige had been hosting a watch-along of the Jim Carey classic ‘Dumb and Dumber.’ However, the stream was cut off mid-way through the movie.

The former WWE Divas Champion recently did another watch-along with the film ‘Labyrinth.’ While the stream appeared to pass without incident at the time, it is unclear whether Paige was warned over the watch-along.

Steamers can host watch-along style parties as long as the movies are eligible on the Amazon-owned platform. However, this currently does not include ‘Dumb and ‘Dumber.’

The community guidelines for the streaming platform note that a suspension can last up to 30 days. A permanent ban seems unlikely at this stage as this appears to be Paige’s first offence.

At time of writing Paige is yet to comment on the ban.

In recent months, Paige has opened up about dealing with trolls on the platform.

Speaking with Renee Paquette on her Oral Sessions podcast, the first ever NXT Women’s Champion explained that while the abuse still hurts her feelings, she’s now at a point in her life where it doesn’t destroy her.

“There are still people out there who like to go out of their way to say the meanest stuff to me. Like even on Twitch I opened up my chat to follower only instead of subscriber only. There’s always one that comes in and mentions a video. I would be lying if I said it didn’t hurt my feelings. But I’ve got to a stage in my life where it doesn’t destroy me anymore. I’m like whatever, it is what it is, but there’s going to be less people doing it.”

Paige hasn’t competed inside a WWE ring since being injured during a house show on 27th December 2017. The former WWE Superstar retired from active competition shortly after, citing a serious neck injury. Paige later enjoyed a stint as SmackDown General Manger before becoming a contributor on WWE Backstage.
