Former WWE Superstar “Indifferent” On Return

WWE logo over roster

Taya Valkyrie’s WWE run was over before it ever really got started.

The star signed with the company in February 2021 and was given the ring-name Franky Monet. Despite her pedigree outside of WWE, Valkyrie wrestled only six times in NXT before being released that November.

Since then the star has appeared for AAA, MLW, IMPACT, and GCW, and eventually joined AEW in March 2023.

During an appearance on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet, the star reflected on her time in WWE and appeared to rule out a return. Valkyrie said that while she’s proud of the success Chelsea Green has found since rejoining the sports entertainment giant, she was much more indifferent.

“I didn’t really think about it too much. Obviously, I have some friends that have gone back, for example, Chelsea Green is an example and she’s thriving, and she is killing it. I’m so proud of her. But like, I didn’t really think about it too much. I just knew that if it was meant to be, it was meant to be. And also I was kind of indifferent.

I didn’t know if I wanted to subject myself to being in a space like that again. And I mean, it worked out. I couldn’t be happier about it.”

Chelsea Green Took Unusual Route Back To WWE

While Taya Valkyrie won’t be following her lead, Chelsea Green returned to WWE during the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble match. Since then she has become a regular fixture on Raw alongside Sonya Deville. In a recent interview, Green discussed how her return came about while confirming that she re-signed a number of months before appearing on-screen.

The star revealed that she took a somewhat unusual approach in making her return happen, explaining that she text Triple H asking for her job back.
