Former WWE Superstar Dismisses Speculation Around AEW Switch

AEW Dynamite set

Ahead of the March 15th episode of AEW Dynamite, Jade Cargill announced she would be holding an open challenge for her TBS Championship.

To date, Cargill is the first and only TBS Champion, having won the title following a tournament back in January 2022. The star hasn’t wrestled since defending her title against Vertivixen on the February edition of Rampage, and as a result, is in search of some new competition. Interestingly, her next opponent will be Canadian.

This led to heavy speculation that Canada’s own Taya Valkyrie could step up to challenge Cargill at the taping in Winnipeg. The star recently finished up a spell with IMPACT Wrestling and has been linked with a move to AEW or back to WWE where she had a short run in 2021.

However, speaking to Wrestle Zone’s, Bill Pritchard, Valkyrie said she’s going to be at home in California, and nowhere near Dynamite. Although this could be an attempt to keep her appearance secret.

“I will be in Los Angeles, California,” Valkyrie said. I will be here in my house with my dogs. John will be back from Australia, so yeah, I’ll be here.”

When asked about the speculation regarding her next move, Valkyrie urged fans to stop overanalysing things and enjoy the ride.

“I love gossip. I woke up to a bunch of texts from people and social media blowing up, but it is what it is. It’s gossip, people will talk. Honestly, keep talking,” Valkyrie said. “I’m just gonna sit here and keep doing my thing. Just enjoy the ride, everybody. Enjoy the ride. You’re meant to be entertained. Stop trying to figure it all out. It will all work out in the end. So enjoy it. Watch pro wrestling everywhere. I obviously have dedicated over a decade of my life to this, and I’m going to continue to do that. So, just enjoy the show.”
