Former WWE Superstar Big Cass, now known as CaZXL, returned to action last night at IMPACT Tag Team Champion Doc Gallows’ Lariato Pro Wrestling Guild promotion.
The return to the ring marks the first public appearance of Big Cass since September 2019 – with the seven-foot-tall star returning to a standing ovation from the crowd to save former tag team partner Enzo Amore, now known as nZo.
Cass was released from WWE in June 2018, and has been vocal about fighting his own personal battles outside of the ring – even enlisting the help of WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page while discussing his fight with depression and anxiety.

Last year, nZo would deliver an update that Cass was looking in the best shape of his life while speaking with myself for Sportskeeda after DDP had previously detailed that Cass was undergoing rehabilitation. That change of physique was very visible from the video footage of Big Cass’ return.
“Oh, man, he’s in the best shape of his life, bro. I saw him… I was Facetiming with him. He was in the mirror, for sure, showing me what he’s been doing. We have that type of relationship but, at the same time I’m like, ‘Come on, bro, take it easy, dude. I believe you,’ you know what I mean? ‘I know you’re putting the work in, I’m proud of you, buddy, I’m proud of you.'”
A new CazXL shirt – which seemingly addresses and celebrates the former WWE Superstar overcoming addiction – is also now available via Collar and Elbow, with all proceeds from the sale of the shirt will go to addiction charity The Herren Project.
