Bayley’s absence from WrestleMania 41 hasn’t gone unnoticed, and former United States Champion Baron Corbin, now appearing under the name Bishop Dyer, made his frustration with WWE crystal clear.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dyer didn’t hold back when addressing the company’s handling of Bayley, who was once advertised for the Women’s Tag Team Title match but ultimately left off the show.
“F*** you, that’s my sentiment,” Dyer said. “I mean, to do it to Bayley of all people. Someone who’s been there through COVID. Has made lemonade out of dogs*** repeatedly… is a model f**ing employee.”
Her removal sparked criticism not just from Dyer but from fans who felt she was overlooked despite years of dedication.
Originally promoted for the tag match, Bayley was replaced by Becky Lynch, who made her surprise return, won the titles, quickly lost them, and has since turned on Lyra Valkyria. Lynch’s comeback was positioned as a big moment. Despite many feeling she was unfairly left off the WrestleMania 41 card, the four-time Women’s Champion has had a number of big WrestleMania moments over the years, with last year’s event seeing her defeat IYO SKY for the Women’s Title in a match that went nearly 15 minutes and was well received by fans and critics alike, with Dave Meltzer giving it four and a half stars in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
How Long Does Bayley Have Left On Her WWE Contract?
Bayley spoke about just how long is left on her current contract and if she has any plans for retirement in the immediate future. She said that she once thought that when she turned 35 that it would be time to call it quits on wrestling, but since reaching 35 in June last year, she feels like those plans have changed. She then said that she has a year and a half left on her contract, but didn’t share what she plans to do when that contract expires.
