For those who may not know, Maria wrestled in WWE from 2004 to 2010 and briefly returned from 2017 to 2020. During the years she wasn’t in the Stamford-based promotion, she wrestled for Ring of Honor, TNA, NJPW, and other independent promotions. She also wrestled in AEW, but departed in January.

Outside the wrestling ring, the former WWE star is also a wife and mother. In October 2014, she married Mike Bennett and has two children, and in June this year, she announced she was pregnant with their third child.

Now, her recent post was regarding her health, but fortunately, it ended with good news.

Former WWE Superstar Maria Kanellis Revealed Skin Cancer Diagnosis

In a recent social media post, Maria Kanellis shared that a type 0 skin cancer was removed after a previous checkup revealed her mole was cancerous. She was lucky it was caught early, but noted she still felt exhausted. She added that ahead of her surgery, professionals marked it with an eye so that bad spirits can distance themselves.

PSA: get your moles checked!!! I had type 0 skin cancer removed today after a previous biopsy came back cancerous. Feeling very blessed they caught it so early but definitely exhausted. I will have a beautiful 3 inch scar on my leg. It’s been an interesting few years. They marked it with an eye before surgery to apparently to keep away bad spirits.”

We at ITR Wrestling are hoping for a good and speedy recovery for Maria Kanellis.
