Former WWE Star Set To Debut In TNA Wrestling

Former WWE Star Set To Debut In TNA Wrestling

A former WWE star is set to be arriving in TNA soon.

Airing on the September 5th broadcast of Impact, a video package aired promoting the arrival of Xia Zhao, formerly known as Xia Li in WWE. While Zhao’s face is not seen in the promo package that also featured fire and fearful music, the voice matched that of the former WWE star and the fan that was seen in her previous entrances flashed up onscreen at the last second, indicating the impending arrival.

At this time, no debut date has been announced.

Zhao was released from her contract back in April as part of the latest round of cuts after first signing with the company back in 2017 as part of the Mae Young Classic tournament. Zhao was also the first Chinese woman to ever compete inside a WWE ring.

Becoming a free agent back in August, Zhao has since competed in West Coast Pro, Kitsune Yabai! and Black Label Pro, where Zhao teamed with former AEW star Jake Hager and Maggie Lee to defeat TNA star Ash By Elegance, Mike Rallis and Shazza McKenzie.

TNA Star Set For WWE Return

As has been seen with Ash by Elegance and Zachary Wentz, former WWE stars have made their returns while under TNA contracts as part of the ongoing partnership between the two promotions, meaning that Zhao could make a return to the promotion as a crossover appearance.

In addition to this, multiple TNA stars have made their way over to NXT and competed on the developmental brand for the first time ever, and the appearances are set to continue. Making her return on a future episode of NXT, Jordynne Grace will put the Knockouts Championship on the line in an open challenge.

In recent news, another TNA star has debuted on WWE NXT.
