A former WWE star may have signed to be officially All Elite and he may be going by a different name as well.
John Hennigan is scheduled to appear on this Friday’s episode of “AEW Rampage,” but according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, he very well may have signed with the promotion already. Hennigan is married to current AEW star, Taya Valkyrie.
This upcoming appearance isn’t going to be Hennigan’s first foray into the All Elite universe as he notoriously competed several times as Johnny Elite with one bout being an opening round match in last year’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament where he lost to Samoa Joe. However, PWInsider is reporting that if Hennigan has indeed signed the dotted line, the name he may be using moving forward is either Johnny Television or Johnny TV.
Where Has John Hennigan Been Since Leaving WWE?
Despite not being in WWE or AEW in recent months, Hennigan has remained active in more than one different type of ring. He recently made news by putting on the boxing gloves to knock out “Epic Meal Time’s” Harley Morenstein. The bout got a lot of buzz for Hennigan who had no issue in calling out Logan Paul’s ally, KSI afterward for a round in the ring.
However, if you really want to keep in tune with what Hennigan has been doing, you can do that on Thursday evening by watching MLW Fusion. Hennigan is currently the promotion’s National Openweight Champion and he’s going to defend it against Jacob Fatu in the program’s main event. If Hennigan were to lose that championship and sign with AEW, he’d be following in the footsteps of his wife Valkyrie who just last week lost the MLW World Featherweight Championship to the upstart Delmi Exo.
