Former WWE Star Rich Swann Suspended By TNA; Set To Enter Rehab

Rich Swann

Former WWE superstar Rich Swann has been suspended by TNA.

In his second suspension since 2022, TNA indefinitely suspended former Impact World Champion Rich Swann after charges of disorderly public intoxication against him. On June 8th, in Altamonte Springs, Florida Swann was arrested.

As per a report from Brandon Thurston from POST Wrestling, Swann is now set to enter a substance abuse rehab program. TNA was unaware of Swann’s arrest until POST Wrestling contacted them for further information. Now, as the investigation began, the promotion suspended Swann.

According to the arrest report filed with Seminole County, Swann attempted to forcefully enter an apartment at 9:50 pm. The resident of the apartment told the police:

When my son… started yelling for me to come to the door, I came out of the bathroom and heard the loud banging so I went to my room and grabbed my handgun,” the man who lives in the apartment told police. “I announced that I had a gun and for whoever was banging on my door to leave.”

When Swann further tried to enter the house, the resident threatened the wrestler with his handgun. Soon after, the police were called as Swann ran away into the nearby woods.

Under influence, Swann mistook the apartment as own, as his address was just a little away. While the resident refrained from pressing charges against him, another woman from the neighborhood soon contacted the police.

The woman reported she encountered Swann when she visited her son’s apartment to pick up some deliveries. Swann reportedly then started following her and continued to her door. Police later found Swann in an intoxicated state and took him under custody.

The former champion later admitted to consumption of alcohol, when police smelled alcohol on his breath, and found his speech slurred. He was then arrested and driven to the John E. Polk Correction Facility in Sanford, Florida. He was released the next day on a $250 bond.

Swann later submitted an Affidavit of Indigency, which is an application for a public defender for those who cannot afford an attorney but was denied and charged $50. Despite a registered address under his name, Swann indicated being homeless.

Back in September 2022, Swann was charged with the same offense after causing a disturbance in his apartment complex. TNA later stated:

TNA Wrestling takes any and all charges against its performers seriously. Rich Swann is responsible for his own personal actions. TNA Wrestling takes any and all charges against its performers seriously. Rich Swann is responsible for his own personal actions.”

With indefinitely suspended now, Swann has also been pulled away from all independent bookings. The former digital media champion has now voluntarily entered a substance abuse rehabilitation program.

In September 2024, Rich Swann was found guilty of the charges.
