A previously released WWE star has signed a new deal and is expected back on TV very soon.
In April 2024, independent promotion East Coast Pro Wrestling announced via social media that Erick Rowan would not be appearing for one of their upcoming shows that he was previously advertised for. The reason for the cancellation was that Rowan had “new contractual obligations [that] are preventing him from making several dates.” Many believed that this was linked to a possible WWE return, which has since been confirmed in a new report.
As reported by PWInsider, Rowan has signed a new deal with the company. The former Tag Team Champion was released back in 2020 and did not sign with any major promotions, instead choosing to work independent dates. Rowan did appear on AEW and WWE TV following his release as part of the tribute shows for Brodie Lee and Bray Wyatt, who passed away in 2020 and 2023 respectively. Rowan also competed for AEW twice, once at Revolution 2022 and on an episode of Rampage in August 2022.
WWE Preparing To Introduce New Faction
Much like the lead-up to Wyatt’s return at Extreme Rules 2023, multiple glitches and QR codes have been seen throughout weekly programming. Previous reports stated that this is leading to Bo Dallas making his long-awaited return and will also be a part of a new faction, which many believe to be called “Wyatt 6.” Along with the returning Dallas, Rowan is expected to be a part of this faction.
