Former WWE Star Officially A Free Agent, Spotted Backstage At AEW Worlds End

WWE Star To Break Unfortunate 574 Day Streak On Raw

One former WWE star is officially a free agent.

After an attempt at an NFL career, Corbin signed a developmental wrestling deal in August of 2012. Hours before SmackDown on November 1st, 2024, Corbin revealed that his time with WWE was ending after 12 years with the company. Instead of being released, the star was informed that his existing contract with the sports entertainment giant would not be renewed.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, the real life Tom Pestock is officially a free agent as of January 1st as his contract has expired. The former Corbin took to social media to comment on the situation, writing:

I’m officially no longer under contract since i was not fired. I was told they were not extending.

So if you’re making a horror movie, let me know ha ha ha ha

New year, no contract, let’s see what we can create

The report from Fightful Select also notes that Pestock was spotted backstage at AEW Worlds End on December 28th.

Kurt Angle Was Disappointed By Baron Corbin’s WWE Exit

At WrestleMania 35 in New Jersey, Kurt Angle competed in his final match against Corbin, who emerged victorious as he sent the WWE Hall of Famer into retirement. Shortly after news of Corbin’s departure, Kurt Angle spoke with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, admitting that he now sees that WrestleMania 35 loss in a different light.

“Baron, I think he’s underrated. I think it kinda sucks — they started utilizing him the way they should have, they had him beat me, which I was okay with, it was my last match and obviously you’re gonna lose your last match when you retire. Baron, after that, he ended up winning King Of The Ring and then nothing else happened with him.

It’s a little disappointing to know that he beat a legend at WrestleMania in the legend’s last match and they didn’t really do much with him after that. For me, it makes me feel like I did that for nothing. It’s not like, ‘Screw you Angle’, but, it kinda is [laughs].” (h/t Fightful)

Corbin filmed content for Netflix just days before he was told that his WWE contract would not be renewed.
