A former WWE star who has not competed in the promotion since 2021 has not retired.
Released from his contract in June 2021, Tyler Breeze has competed sporadically since with 20 matches on the independents, most recently in February 2025.
Although Breeze has appeared via Xavier Woods’ YouTube channel UpUpDownDown, he has not made any onscreen appearances on weekly TV, leading to fan speculation that the former NXT Tag Team Champion has retired.
During an appearance at For The Love of Wrestling, Breeze clarified that he has not retired but did stop wrestling full-time in 2021:
“It’s funny because sometimes I feel very retired, and then other times I’m like, You know what? I’m not. It’s just a matter of timing for certain things. I stopped wrestling full-time in 2021. I was just enjoying life a little bit. I had a kid, so I was just enjoying being a dad, being a husband.”
Continuing, Breeze stated that he is looking to compete on the independents again but is picking his moments:
“[I’ve been] branching back out, getting in on the indies a little bit; it’s still very much alive. So, yeah. I’m not done. Where it comes out, where you see me next, is kind of wait to be seen. But just a matter of timing.”
