Former WWE Star Makes IMPACT Wrestling Debut

IMPACT Wrestling

After almost a year of speculation, Trinity Fatu’s wrestling future appears to have been decided.

At the April 28th IMPACT Wrestling tapings, the star formerly known as Naomi in WWE made her debut for the company. Appearing under the name Trinity, she said that she had come to win the IMPACT Knockouts Title before being joined by current champion Deonna Purrazzo.

However, the pair were quickly interrupted by Jordynne Grace who reminded Trinity that she is next in line for a title shot.

Former champion Grace will challenge for the Knockouts Title at Under Siege on May 26th.

Trinity will make her in-ring debut for the promotion at the April 29th tapings when she takes on KiLynn King. IMPACT later confirmed that the match will air on May 4th.

Move Marks Another Major Signing For IMPACT Wrestling

The move is another major signing for IMPACT, who recently secured a deal to bring Nick Aldis back to the promotion. It had previously been reported that WWE had an interest in signing both Trinity and Aldis before they struck deals with IMPACT.

Naomi hasn’t wrestled since May 15th, 2022 when she teamed with Mercedes Mone to take on Natalya and Shayna Baszler at a live event. A day later both Naomi and Mone, known as Sasha Banks at the time, walked out of a Monday Night Raw taping and didn’t appear for the company again. The pair were the Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time.

Since leaving WWE Mercedes Mone has relaunched her career with New Japan-Pro Wrestling. While it is believed that Mone isn’t locked into a long-term deal with the promotion, NJPW remains keen to keep working with the star.
