Kalisto is looking to make an impact in a different company than WWE.

Now wrestling under the name Samuray Del Sol, the former Kalisto finds a new squared circled this Friday with IMPACT Wrestling as the promotion hosts its Chicago Heat event at Cicero Stadium on Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30.

Del Sol will be in six-man tag action as he teams up with Black Taurus and Laredo Kid to battle Bully Ray, Moose and Brian Myers. On Saturday, Del Sol will have his first singles match against former X-Division Champion Chris Sabin. The reveal was made Wednesday eventing by IMPACT on social media:

The Former Kalisto Did Previously Work In AEW

While with WWE, Del Sol was a two-time United States Champion, and NXT Tag Team Champion and a Crusierweight Champion. He also got a memorable win against Braun Strowman in a dumpster match, something that Vince McMahon was very hands-on with.

Del Sol did have a “cup of coffee” in AEW as he wrestled for the company on two different occasions. During that time he faced off against FTR and was grateful for how the two took care of him in a tag match. That’s where he also took to Twitter to thank the late Brodie Lee for his help. However, Del Sol spelled Brodie’s real name, Jon Huber, incorrectly and it received some backlash from Lee’s wife Amanda and Chris Jericho. In an interview with Renee Paquette, Del Sol said the incident put him in a bit of a depression.

“I just felt heartbroken and I’m like, you know what? I just pushed it aside, let’s keep going no matter what because I didn’t let that stop me after my depression because I had to reevaluate my life, reevaluate my thoughts, my mind, everything that I’d been through, that I worked for, I felt that it was taken away. But, again, lucha (he laughed).”
