Former WWE Star Calls Out “Pathetic” Snub From History, Sparking Debate Among Fans

Former WWE Star Calls Out

A former champion in WWE has called out their apparent erasure from history, leading fans to also give their opinion on the discourse over which side is correct.

On March 11th, Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated NXT Women’s Champion Giulia in a winner-takes-all match. With the Women’s North American title only being introduced recently, Vaquer made history by becoming the first wrestler to hold both championships simultaneously.

Although WWE have stated that Vaquer is the first-ever women’s double champion in NXT history, some fans have disagreed with the statement. On social media, one user pointed out that Mandy Rose held the NXT Women’s and NXT UK Women’s Championships while with the company and was therefore the first double champion in NXT, prompting a response from Rose:

Haha yea it’s pretty pathetic isn’t it!! Thanks for the recognition tho! Appreciate you!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Following Rose’s statement, many fans chimed in to give their opinion over who was the first double champion as their definitions were different. While Rose did hold 2 championships following her victory at Worlds Collide 2022, others have pointed out that this was a title unification match whereas Vaquer currently holds 2 active championships.

While Rose never defended the NXT UK Women’s Championship, she did hold the title on TV following the victory, technically making her a double champion. It should be noted that according to the official WWE lineage of the retired championship, the company recognises Meiko Satomura as its final champion.

Former WWE Star Mandy Rose Talks Life After Wrestling

Rose was released from her contract in late 2022, reportedly due to content on her FanTime page breaking company guidelines. Following the release, Rose has made millions from the exclusive content and other business ventures. In a recent episode of her podcast, the former WWE star stated that she is making 10 times her pro wrestling salary.
