Former WWE Star Believes They Will Return

Former WWE star AJ Francis believes that his time with the company has not come to an end.

Previously a part of the promotion as Hit Row member Top Dolla, Francis was one of many cuts during the pandemic and was released from his contract in 2021 along with the rest of the group. Following the change of creative in 2022 and Triple H taking charge of the main roster, Hit Row was one of many returns to the company albeit without Swerve Strickland, who went on to sign with AEW.

On September 21st 2023, Francis was released from the company for a second time as multiple talents were cut shortly after the Endeavor takeover was completed. Although currently competing in TNA and on the independents, Francis remains optimistic that he will return once more.

Appearing on The Wrestling Classic, Francis looked back on his time in WWE and stated that he is likely to return and remains on good terms with those within the company:

“Absolutely, absolutely. The second run was worth it, and I’m telling you now, it’s probably not gonna be the last run. I have a good relationship with the people at WWE. I was backstage when they were in Houston just because I happened to be in town with Bun B. Bun wanted to come to the show, but he was booked. Then he ended up coming with me to TNA, and that was really cool.”

In another interview, AJ Francis has reiterated his belief that he will return to WWE, but says he is prioritising his TNA run.
