Former WWE Ring Announcer Not Interested In Being Samantha Irvin's Replacement

A former WWE ring announcer has categorically stated that they do not have any interest in returning to the role in light of Samantha Irvin’s recent departure.

The wrestling world was shocked in October when Irvin announced her shock departure from the company just hours before Raw was due to go on air.

During a recent interview with Triggered Wrestling, former WWE ring announcer and backstage interviewer Kayla Becker [FKA Kayla Braxton] was asked about the role.

While Becker did acknowledge that Lilian Garcia is now the new announcer, she was then asked if it would have been considered if offered. Noting the challenges that come with the position, Becker admitted she was not a fan of the job:

“Do you know how much I hate ring announcing? Absolutely not. You know how that job is? Ring announcing is the most underrated job ever in the history of wrestling. It’s so difficult. It’s very stressful, and it makes your voice hoarse. So, no. I am not interested.”

Becker also left the company earlier in the year to pursue other projects and is set to star in the upcoming movie Stranglehold.

Samantha Irvin Comes To The Defence Of Her Fiance

In the days that followed Irvin’s departure, online trolls fired insults in her direction over her choice to leave the company. Many blamed Irvin’s partner Ricochet as the reason for the exit with a common theory being that the former ring announcer would be making her debut in AEW soon. Having enough of the rumours, Samantha Irvin finally set the record straight and defended Ricochet from the abuse.
