This former WWE NXT Champion believes that he can beat CM Punk.
A couple of months ago, on 1st October 2024, fans were treated with a star-studded NXT card during the show’s CW Network debut. The main event of the show featured Ethan Page defending his NXT Championship against Trick Williams, while CM Punk officiated the match.
The match saw several intense moments between Page and The Second City Saint. Unable to defend his title, fans saw Page lose the NXT Championship to Trick Williams as Punk made the three count.
In a recent interview with Fightful‘s Sean Ross Sapp, Ethan Page opened up on working with Punk. The former champion shared his gratitude for sharing the same spotlight as Punk, and how he got to perform on such a big platform.
It was interesting in the sense that we’ve crossed paths multiple places now,” Page said. So I got to see how he operates across the board. That was interesting. You’re talking about his fashion. I’ll say the ugliest he’s ever looked is in a referee shirt. Dumbest he’s ever looked is raising Trick Williams’ hand in a referee shirt. Sorry. I don’t know.
You talking about arguably the biggest or one of the biggest stars in the WWE, maybe of like my generation of wrestlers. It was great to be able to ring in this new era of NXT on our new home channel, the CW Network. It was a very big platform and moment and match. I’m grateful in a sense that I got to be in, I guess, CM Punk’s stratosphere or whatever, to share the spotlight. That was cool. The things that followed up after, not too cool. Not too cool at all.”
Closing the night, Punk dropped Page with a GTS. Speaking of who would win a Bloodsport match between him and Punk, Page remained confident that any version of him could defeat the former World Champion.
Oh me, any version of me. I could wear this freaking outfit,” Page said. “You’re talking to a man that trained martial arts from the age of four years old, not 40 years old. Four.”

At the Survivor Series post-show Press Conference, CM Punk was asked to comment on Roman Reigns’ meteoric rise in the promotion. A part of Reigns’ debut at Survivor Series 2012, Punk later departed the Stamford-based promotion, while The Big Dog rose to the occasion.
Since his return in 2023, Punk has witnessed Reigns as a completely new character. When asked to comment on Roman Reigns’ rise in the promotion during his absence, Punk simply answered:
