WWE Hall Of Famer Would Be Honoured To Induct John Cena Into Hall Of Fame; Says 16-time Champion Deserves Number 17

A rival of John Cena has reacted to the news that they are currently the odds-on favourite to induct the 16-time World Champion into the WWE Hall of Fame.

As certain as death and taxes, Cena’s induction is an inevitability given his accomplishments in the ring and being one of the biggest stars in the 21st century. With a number of notable rivals throughout his career, Cena can pretty much choose whoever he wants to give that all-important induction speech before the Hollywood star takes the stage.

Although Cena has had many great opponents in his WWE career, his first-ever opponent on the main roster remains the current favourite.

Back in 2002, Cena answered Kurt Angle’s open challenge to kickstart a legendary career inside the squared circle. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet about the possibility, Angle stated that it would be an honour to induct his former rival and added that Cena deserves that record-breaking 17th World Championship:

“Well, I’ll tell you this, there are a lot of people that deserve to induct John. Randy Orton, who was his biggest competition, or his nemesis. But Stephanie McMahon, don’t forget that she’s the one that discovered his rapping ability, and she was a big fan of his, she really supported him quite often.

But no I’d be honoured to induct John Cena, the one thing I want to say about him is he has shown that he is possibly the greatest WWE superstar of all time. Winning 16 World Heavyweight Titles in one company, Ric Flair won 16, but he won them in NWA and WCW and WWE and you can’t take that away from him, they were all major promotions. But to do it all in one company, that makes you that company’s greatest star. And I really believe that he deserves another title before he retires.”

TNA Star Calls Out John Cena

With Cena making it clear that there will be no more matches next year, every major star in the wrestling world is hoping that they will get an opportunity to share the ring with the WWE legend. In a recent interview, one member of the TNA roster called out John Cena, adding that they can “1000%” hang with the Hollywood star on the mic.

In other news, a TNA star is not ruling out a John Cena appearance.
