Former WWE Champion To Challenge Bron Breakker For The NXT Title

Bron Breakker NXT Champion

Bron Breakker will be back in action on the February 21st episode of NXT when he puts his NXT Championship on the line.

On the February 14th edition of the show, Breakker came to the ring to address his future after retaining his title at Vengeance Day. However, before the second-generation star could really get into his stride he was interrupted by Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher.

Mahal initially praised Breakker for “carrying NXT on his back” for almost an entire year, before discussing the pressure that he’s under. While Mahal was speaking, fans chanted “born Breakker sucks” to John Cena’s theme tune. The segment eventually led to Mahal challenging Breakker and the match was confirmed for seven days time.

Elsewhere on the show, Jacy Jayne discussed turning on Gigi Dolin the previous week. Jayne referred to Dolin as “Jannetty” another reference to the break-up of The Rockers. After the promo Indi Hartwell was interviewed and said if Jayne thinks she should be at the front of the line for a shot at the NXT Women’s Title she’s wrong, challenging her to a match.

Speaking in a recent interview, Jayne addressed the break-up of Toxic Attraction and going out on her own. The star claimed that she always felt like the third wheel in the group and only really started to get credit after Mandy Rose got fired.

Also confirmed for February 21st, Trick Williams will take on Ilja Dragunov.

How Long Has Bron Breakker Been NXT Champion?

Bron Breakker won the NXT Championship back in April 2022 on Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania 38. His victory came just a month after he lost the title to Dolph Ziggler. This means that aside from 27 days in March 2022, Breakker has held the NXT Title since that January.

Breakker’s current reign has spanned almost 320 days and has seen him defeat the likes of Grayson Waller, Apollo Crews, and JD McDonagh.
