Further Details Regarding Former WWE Champion’s New Contract

Former WWE Champion Signs New Deal

Another top WWE star has signed a new deal and further details have emerged as to the length of the contract.

Wrestlers’ contracts continue to be a major talking point in 2024 with many members of the roster looking to secure their future either at the company they are currently with or choosing to bet on themselves and explore other opportunities. While some stars’ futures continue to be up in the air, one former champion has extended their current deal.

First announced on The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee announced that Raw star Sheamus was the latest name to sign an extension with the company and would be remaining part of the promotion for the foreseeable future:

“We have some breaking news out of WWE. Ladies and gentlemen, when Drew McIntyre re-signed with the WWE they had The Rock announce it. It’s not The Rock, but it’s certainly one of our lads. We are incredibly lucky to announce that Mr. Banger after Banger himself, Sheamus, The Big Fella, has officially signed an extension with the WWE.”

McAfee noted that The Celtic Warrior has been wrestling with the company for 17 years and added that the former World Champion deserved it. McAfee and the rest of the team sent their congratulations to the former World Champion for securing the extension.

McAfee and Sheamus were recently in Dublin together to promote the upcoming College Gameday, which McAfee has returned to for the upcoming season. During his lengthy tenure, the Irish star has won just about every championship and accolade there is to achieve within the company, except for the Intercontinental Championship.
