A former WWE Champion has returned to the ring after a lengthy absence.

At the live event in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 22nd, Sheamus took on Bron Breakker in an attempt to capture the Intercontinental Championship. While the Irish star came up short, he received a huge ovation from his home crowd.

The bout marked The Celtic Warrior’s first match since he competed in the Royal Rumble on February 1st. Before then, the star had been part of a hard-hitting feud with Breakker and Ludwig Kaiser over the Intercontinental Title.

That championship has particular significance for the star as it’s the only accolade he hasn’t won in the company, having held different iterations of the other titles as well as being a Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner as well as the 2010 King of the Ring,

“Belfast.. my road to Wrestlemania starts TONIGHT. Bron Breakker will not leave MY COUNTRY with the IC Title. Are you ready for a BANGER??”

During his time away, The Celtic Warrior signed with the Paradigm Talent Agency, hinting at his ambitions outside the ring. The agency also represents other top stars including CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Alexa Bliss.
