Former WWE Champion Returning To The Ring After 9 Years Away

A former WWE star who won a World Championship while in the company has let the fans know that they are preparing for an in-ring comeback to end their career on their own terms.

A part of WWE from 2007 to 2014, Ezekiel Jackson is a former Intercontinental Champion and was famously the final WWECW Champion before the revived extreme brand shut down.

Following his exit from the company, Jackson had one match in TNA before competing in Lucha Underground as Big Ryck. Leaving the promotion in April 2015, Jackson competed in a few matches on the independents with his most recent match taking place for German promotion wXw in October 2015. However, despite being out of the ring for nearly a decade, Jackson is gearing up for a comeback.

In 2025, the former ECW Champion has provided an update via his blog. Admitting that he was not happy with how his career ended, Jackson is preparing for his in-ring return:

“I continued asking myself if I ended my career the way I wanted to, and for the most part I didn’t. So, I’ve always had that little chip on my shoulder as to I want to end this the way I want to. I’ve also had a bucket list of people I’d love to compete against, so we’re looking into scheduling a few things. I am accepting bookings and this should be fun.“

Jackson also confirmed that he would be at FWE in North Carolina on March 15 while adding that he is getting into ring shape ahead of his return match:

“I’m still big as hell so I I’m not worried about that. I do have to get into ring shape. I’m adding more cardio-based workouts, adding some rowing, and I’ll be getting in the ring a few times this week for the next few weeks. Should be a fun journey, I’m excited to see how this all plays out.”
