A former WWE World Champion is not pleased with Joe Hendry. The star even talked about bringing back wrestler’s court.
Joe Hendry was the face of TNA as the promotion’s world champion. However, his reign as the world champion came to a grinding halt after NXT star Trick Williams defeated him for the title at Battleground. This has not sat well with former WWE World Champion Nic Nemeth, who was furious that Hendry let a NXT star defeat him for the world title.
Speaking to WhatCulture Wrestling, Nemeth said that the former TNA World Champion needed to take some accountability.
“I’m absolutely furious and pi*sed off about it, and that’s not a joke or a game or like, isn’t this a funny clip to play. I feel like Joe Hendry has accomplished so much, and he’s brought so many eyes to TNA, and he’s kicked so much as we need. This isn’t a world of participation medals and awards that say, ‘Hey, great job. You lost our world title to a different guy from a different company.’ So I don’t go, ‘Hey, great job, buddy. Thanks for trying really hard and losing our title to a different company. I say, I congratulate him when he brings people in, when he defends that title,” Nemeth said. [H/T Fightful]
Nemeth, who is a former TNA World Champion in his own right, thought that too many people were patting Hendry on the back despite him losing the title to a wrestler from a different company.
Former WWE star Nic Nemeth wants to bring back wrestler’s court after Joe Hendry lost his title
Former WWE star Nic Nemeth was not okay with Joe Hendry losing the TNA World Title. As a matter of fact, the star wanted to bring back wrestler’s court.
Wrestler court is a concept which was primarily a part of World Wrestling Entertainment, where wrestlers would air their grievances and let the locker room leader decide who was right or wrong.
“He beat me and I said, ‘D*mn it, you beat me. You got me.’ When you lose and you mess up, just like I do to myself, or I get on Ryan’s case, when we make mistakes, we own up to it. He lost our world title. I am not okay with that. I feel like we might need to bring back wrestler’s court or something, or pull him aside with everybody in the locker room, because if you’re gonna, if everyone’s gonna pat him on the back for the good things, we need to let him know that he messed up and lost our world title. Trick Williams is a bada*s. He’s awesome. He’s got a great future, but he is an NXT talent who now is the TNA World Champion, and I am pis*ed off about it.”
Trick Williams‘ first defence as the TNA World Champion will be against Mike Santana. It remains to be seen how that pans out.
