Former WWE Champion Opens Up About Potentially Not Being On The WrestleMania Card

A former WWE WrestleMania main-eventer has commented on potentially being off the card altogether in Las Vegas.

The main event of WrestleMania 27 saw The Miz defending the WWE Championship against John Cena. Miz ended up getting a shock win with a little help from The Rock, who was beginning his own rivalry with Cena at the time.

14 years later, Cena is once again heading into the main event on the Grandest Stage Of Them All, this time with The Rock by his side as he attempts to dethrone Cody Rhodes. The Miz, however, is nowhere to be seen on the two-day card.

Reflecting on the situation in an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro.co.uk, Miz admitted it wasn’t easy to have no match set for the show.

“No! No, it’s not easy! You kidding me? As a WWE superstar, if your goal is not to main event WrestleMania and be the WWE or [World Heavyweight] Champion, then you shouldn’t be here.

“So my goal is always to do that. If the cards don’t fall where they may, you better believe I’m trying my best to to try to get into a spot, or trying to get to that level of what I feel I can produce.

“And I do feel I can produce at that level still to this day. It’s just, you know, sometimes the cards don’t fall where they may.”

Randy Orton Confirms Which WWE WrestleMania 41 Night He Will Face Kevin Owens

While Miz is currently missing from the card, Randy Orton will take on Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 41. During a recent promo, Orton claimed he would kick Owens’ head “clear over the roof” before confirming the bout would take place on the first night of the two-day spectacular.

Also in the interview, the former WWE Champion spoke about their WrestleMania moment being saved from disaster.

With just a few weeks to go until WrestleMania 41, the day split may have been revealed.
