Former WWE Champion Makes Shock Debut At TNA Emergence

JBL in TNA

JBL has continued his run of surprise appearances with a shock debut on TNA last night.

JBL made his entrance as TNA Emergence was wrapping up, sporting the same trenchcoat and cowboy hat as his other recent appearances outside of WWE.

After the main event, where Nic Nemeth successfully retained the TNA World Heavyweight Title against Josh Alexander in a 60-minute Iron Man match, JBL made his way down to the ring. He whispered something to Nemeth before leaving.

As TNA Emergence went off air, Nemeth took to the mic one last time to accept Moose’s title challenge, setting up a match on September 13 at Victory Road.

JBL has made a string of similar debuts recently. On August 17, he accompanied Nemeth to the ring for the AAA Mega Championship match at Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s Triplemanía XXXII: Mexico City event. This was his first non-WWE appearance since 1995.

JBL followed this with another shock appearance at a Game Changer Wrestling show, where he interfered in the GCW World Championship ladder match to help Mance Warner to retain. The physical nature of JBL’s GCW appearance came as a surprise to some, seeing as JBL’s last match was all the way back in 2009 at WrestleMania 25.

JBL Details How Shock International Appearance Came To Be

While JBL’s intentions and future plans remain a mystery, he recently spoke with Slam Wrestling to shed some light on how his surprise AAA debut came to be. To hide his identity, JBL wore a luchador mask as he made his way to the venue, which led some fans to mistake him for a different wrestler.
