A former WWE champion hinted at a major SummerSlam interference during Jacob Fatu‘s title match.
Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa have been at odds since the former turned on the latter at Money in the Bank. Their rivalry intensified at Night of Champions after Sikoa defeated Fatu for the United States Championship following Tonga Loa’s return and Talla Tonga’s WWE debut, and their assistance.
Last week on WWE SmackDown, the feud between the superstars took a turn when Solo Sikoa tried framing Jacob Fatu for a car crash. Not only did this lead to the US Champion getting arrested onscreen, but he will also put the title on the line against The Samoan Werewolf at SummerSlam inside a steel cage.
The added stipulation has already made the match more exciting, but Rikishi thinks something else might happen at the SummerSlam bout. In the latest Rikishi Fatu Off the Top podcast, the Hall of Famer shared that an interference might occur during the Steel Cage Match. However, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion didn’t reveal who he thought it would come from, to leave it as a cliffhanger:
I got a feeling something’s going to happen now. You know, like it could be outside interference by… you’re not going to get an answer from me. I’m going to leave him on a cliffhanger.”
Jacob Fatu Set For A Big WWE Future
Jacob Fatu winning the United States Championship at SummerSlam will surely be a big thing. However, it seems like The Samoan Werewolf has a positive future in the Stamford-based promotion, whether he wins the title next week or not.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE was planning for Jacob Fatu to receive a massive promotional push going forward, which included specific city-themed merchandise, signifying that the Stamford-based company viewed him as an elite talent. The wrestling insider even likened his push to the kind someone like John Cena has had in the past.
