A former Champion is hopeful of the opportunities that come with the WWE-Netflix collaboration.
On 6th January 2025, the Stamford-based promotion officially began its new era. With a massively popular Netflix premiere episode, WWE kicked off the new year. Appearances from The Rock, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, and many more summed up the show.
It also featured a much-talked-about main event of, CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Addressing the transition to the streaming platform, former United States Champion, LA Knight, discussed a possible crossover between WWE and the streaming giant. Speaking with Radio Times, Knight claimed that while it is possible, the stars have to commit themselves, since wrestling is not easy.
“Maybe. The only problem with that is, you have to be very committed to this. It’s not easy to do, not anybody can do it, and I think unfortunately, at times, that impression’s maybe been given, and it’s very, very difficult. One of the few who I can say has excelled and actually done a decent job at it is Logan Paul. But for the most part, this is tough to do. It’s difficult on your body, it’s difficult just in a sense of the travel. But also just kind of knowing your way in and out of the ring.
So with that being the case, do I think it opens up more opportunities for that? Possibly. I think it opens up more opportunities for crossover ability, whether it’s maybe us going into their universe or them coming into our universe in some capacity. But in-ring, who knows? It really depends on how much they’re willing to put into perfecting the craft.”
