Kurt Angle has spoken out in support of Michelle McCool’s upcoming induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, dismissing fan speculation that the honour is tied solely to her marriage to The Undertaker.
McCool, a former Divas Champion, was announced as part of this year’s Hall of Fame class earlier in 2025. While the decision was met with praise by many, some fans questioned whether her relationship with The Undertaker influenced the recognition.
Speaking with Bill Apter on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Angle was clear in his defence of McCool’s career.
“Michelle had a great career, she had an excellent career,” he said. “I think she deserves it. Whether she’s married to The Undertaker or not, she’s had a Hall of Fame career, and I think they’re right to induct her into the Hall of Fame. That’s an easy one. She’s that good.”
McCool began her WWE career in 2004 and went on to become the inaugural Divas Champion. She was also a two-time WWE Women’s Champion.
She will join a stacked class of 2025, headlined by Triple H, with other inductees including Lex Luger and the powerhouse tag team The Natural Disasters, Earthquake and Typhoon.
This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony will also see Dory Funk Sr., Ivan Koloff, and Kamala inducted into the Legacy Wing. Additionally, the first-ever “Immortal Moment” award will be presented to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Bret Hart, honouring their legendary WrestleMania 13 match.
Why Was Mickie James Replaced On WWE LFG?
It was reported that WWE LFG will be renewed for a second season, but Mickie James will be replaced by Michelle McCool. According to the report, sources close to A&E indicated that McCool’s husband, and a mentor on LFG, The Undertaker, had a hand in getting James replaced by McCool by stating that he would only be interested in returning for the second season if his wife were somehow involved in the show.
