Former WWE Announcer Claims Nia Jax Led The Charge To Get Him Fired: “She Hates Me”

Nia Jax's Reaction To 2021 WWE Release Is Not What You Would Expect

One former WWE announcer claims Nia Jax had a role in getting him fired.

After taking on a variety of roles in WWE from 1999-2008, Jonathan Coachman left to work as a commentator with ESPN. When his contract expired in 2017, he made his way back to WWE, but the return was short-lived, lasting less than a year.

Speaking on a recent edition of Behind the Turnbuckle: The Last Word, Coachman addressed the backlash aimed at Nia Jax after her WarGames performance at Survivor Series and revealed that he and the current WWE Women’s Champion did not get along.

“She hates me, by the way, Rafael. Years ago when, and this shows how crazy it was at the time. When I left ESPN and I came back, I told Vince [McMahon] I’ve got four golf events that I already have on my schedule I didn’t want to miss. in my first 10 years in the WWE, I missed one Monday night, so now I come back 10 years later and tell Vince I’m missing four events in that calendar year. How do you think that went over? He said no problem, coach, we got you.”

“She Didn’t Like Me For Whatever Reason” – Jonathan Coachman On Nia Jax

Jonathan Coachman has spoken in the past about his issues with WWE upon his return, and continuing on the podcast, he explained that things went south quickly and that Jax was one of the most vocal about wanting him to be replaced by Renee Paquette (then known as Renee Young).

“Well, he had me until the second missed event, and he’s like, this is some bulls**t, and I was like, I told you. So they started filling in. And I remember they put Renee in my spot. Nobody liked the fact that they brought me back. They were, whatever the reason. I’m not gonna use the jealous word. It is what it is.

But Nia Jax led the charge of Renee, Renee, Renee in Coach’s spot. She didn’t like me for whatever reason. I had no issues with Renee. I think Rene is terrific.”
