Former TNT Champion Makes Shocking Return On AEW Dynamite

Miro Malakai Black PAC AEW NJPW Forbidden Door

The 5/10 episode of AEW Dynamite was full of twists and turns, including a few familiar faces returning to AEW.

One surprise comeback came in the form of former TNT Champion Miro. After Claudio Castagnoli defeated Rey Fenix to earn a future shot at the ROH Tag Team Champions with a partner of his choosing, we were directed backstage to see Miro approaching Tony Khan’s office. The question prompted by Renee Paquette was ultimately ignored as Miro glanced her way and stepped into the office.

There was no follow-up to what exactly Miro talked to Khan about, but the President and Founder of AEW did reveal that a big announcement is coming next week due to the fact that they have so many talented stars in the back that want opportunities to shine. It is expected this is the reveal of the new AEW show, Collision, which is set to premiere on Saturday nights.

Along with Miro, former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa also made a brief appearance to acknowledge that she’s ready to be back in the mix.

When Was The Last Time We Saw Miro In AEW?

We haven’t seen Miro on AEW programming since the All Out pay-per-view back in September 2022. There, he teamed up with Darby Allin and Sting to defeat the House of Black’s Malakai Black, Brody King, & Buddy Matthews.

While away from the squared circle, Miro was busy working on a CBS television series titled “East New York” and stayed in the city where it’s based for several weeks. He was once a central part of WWE, as well, where he portrayed the “Bulgarian Brute,” Rusev.
