One former TNT Champion isn’t done making waves in AEW.
Darby Allin is no stranger to turning heads, whether with his high-risk in-ring exploits or plans to climb Mount Everest. Speaking in a new interview with JAMZ96.3, Allin explained that his risk-taking serves a purpose in making him mentally stronger day by day. In fact, the star claims that he’s mentally tough enough now to become the face of All Elite Wrestling.
“I really feel like I’m ready for that spot. I say this all the time, but all the crazy stuff I do outside of the ring is not just for laughs and giggles. It actually makes me mentally stronger. Breaking down those barriers. If I can survive this stunt, then why can’t I be the face of a company? If I can survive Everest, why can’t I be the face of a company?
It’s just getting stronger mentally. I firmly believe when you risk your life on a monthly basis, it’s going to make you pretty strong mentally and I feel like I’m ready to be the face of this whole company.” (h/t Fightful)
Why Didn’t AEW’s Darby Allin Climb Mount Everest In 2024?
Darby Allin’s plans to climb Mount Everest were always a lofty goal, but the star was on track to take on the mountain shortly after competing alongside Sting in the Hall of Famer’s retirement match at Revolution.
However, disaster struck during the star’s match with Jay White on March 13th. Darby Allin broke his foot in the match, putting plans to tackle Mount Everest on hold until 2025.
The daredevil has continued to perform outrageous stunts, and at Full Gear, Darby Allin took part in a car crash instead of using a stuntman.
