A former TNA Champion has quietly left the company.

Rich Swann debuted in the company in 2018 and quickly became a fan-favourite star. During his seven years in the company, Swann captured the Digital Media, X-Division, and World Championships.

However, in June 2024, Swann was arrested for public intoxication and causing a disturbance. The arrest stemmed from an incident that saw Swann attempt to forcefully enter a resident’s home after mistaking the address for his own. The owner of the property told Swann to leave, and although there was damage to the door from the incident, chose to not press charges.

Police later found Swann in an intoxicated state and placed him under arrest as another resident contacted the police. The woman claimed that Swann followed her to her door after being approached by the wrestler. Swann admitted to consumption of alcohol, was arrested and released on a $250 bond.

The incident and subsequent arrest led to TNA suspending Swann, and he hasn’t appeared in the promotion since.

Rich Swann A Free Agent After TNA Contract Expiry

Now, Fightful Select has reported that Swann signed a two-year contract extension in 2022 which expired in late 2024, leaving him a free agent. The report also notes that there was an option year in the extension, which the promotion chose not to pick up.

While not appearing in TNA, Swann has been active in the independent scene. Since making his wrestling return in October in Pro Wrestling Revolver, the star has made regular appearances there and in GCW, as well as getting in the ring in multiple other promotions.
