Former TNA Star Believes The Promotion ‘Stopped Caring’ About Him

Hammerstone TNA

This former TNA star believes that the promotion had stopped caring about him.

Alexander Hammerstone, aka Hammerstone, was a part of TNA Wrestling since 2024. Losing against Josh Alexander in his debut match, he later went on to sign a contract with the promotion. Serving a little over one year at the company, he announced in March 2025 that his time at the company had expired and that he was a free agent.

Speaking to Zach Heydorn of Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Hammerstone opened up on his final days at the company, and how things were there creatively. Expressing his frustrations, he claimed that the promotion had stopped caring about him. He further teased his reasons for leaving TNA.

“At a certain point, perception is reality. So I’m sitting there and from my perception, I felt like the company stopped caring about me and maybe I needed to do something in a different way. Maybe they were looking for something that I wasn’t giving them. But also that was never a conversation that was had. I’d be very happy to be sat down and told, ‘hey, creatively, this is what we want to do. So we need to see more of this out of you.’

And I never got that. It was just like, hey, where are we going creatively? And a lot of times it’s like, well, you know what you’re doing with this guy. You know what you’re doing this that guy, so why don’t you know what you’re doing with me?”

Further in the interview, he also expressed his thoughts about his match against Josh Alexander not making it to the TNA’s 2024 End of Year awards poll.

“Whether that’s a minority of fans or not. I don’t care if I lose the poll. Just put me on the poll. So it got to a point where I felt like there was a loss of faith in me. And I don’t know where that came from, but I could be way off here, and I’m not blaming anybody except myself, but once you start to perceive things like that, that becomes reality.

So it’s like, if this company doesn’t have faith, I mean, why should I even have faith in myself if they don’t have direction for me? Why should I try so hard? It’s not to say that I ever gave up, but mentally, I just felt beat down.”

No longer a part of TNA, Hammerstone’s last match was against Joe Hendry on the 21st February episode of Impact.

Matt Hardy Has Expressed His Thoughts About This Fired TNA Star

Earlier this month, on 26th March, news broke about TNA firing their veteran wrestler, Gail Kim. Soon, in an episode of his ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy‘ podcast, Matt Hardy expressed his thoughts about Gail Kim.

“The Gail Kim departure was definitely shocking, very unexpected. I don’t think you could have asked anyone if that was on their list of somebody that would be released — I don’t think anybody thought that would have been a possibility. So yeah, huge huge shock and even reading that news, it was hard to believe that it actually went down.

I think she was a real standout and a real trailblazer, groundbreaker when it came to the style that women started working. Now that she has moved past that and she’s hurt and she’s beat up. She obviously put her body through a lot of wear and tear. I think she’s got a real good mindset and knowing also how to optimize your match. Make a match great but optimize it.

I think the girls feel very comfortable with her. They’re very trusting of her just because she has been around for so long and she has such a great track record not only of in-ring performances and breaking barriers in the women’s division, Knockouts division whatever division you call it but she is someone that they feel like has their best interest in mind. She’s very giving.

She’s very selfless in many ways, especially if she’s putting stuff together, she doesn’t really play favorites. She wants everyone to go out there and steal the show. She wants all of the women to stand out and look great. I think she’s truly there for the greater good of wherever she’s working.”
