Former NXT Women’s Tag Champion To Return From Injury Soon

NXT 2.0 Arena

A former NXT Women’s Tag Champion is reportedly returning soon following a torn ACL.

Zoey Stark signed with WWE back in January 2021. She made her debut competing in the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament, teaming with Marina Shafir.

Stark would later win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships along with Io Shirai. However, Stark and Shirai would go on to lose the titles to Toxic Attraction and then get assaulted by them in a backstage segment, resulting in Stark suffering a torn ACL/Meniscus and getting sidelined indefinitely.

Now, it appears Stark is ready to get back into the ring.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the NXT star is expected to be back on television soon. The report has given no exact date on when she’ll return.

“Zoey Stark should be returning from knee surgery relatively soon. Returning booking ideas have been talked with that regard Stark in NXT.”

Stark’s tag partner, Io Shirai, has recently expressed interest in moving back to Japan. It has been reported that Shirai’s contract with WWE may expire soon, which could leave Stark to return as a singles competitor. Meanwhile, Toxic Attraction has recently lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships to Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade on NXT.
