Former NXT Tag Team Champion Guest Coaches At WWE Performance Center

NXT Tag Team Championships

Yet another former WWE Superstar coached at the Performance Center recently, a year after they were let go from the company.

The WWE Performance Center has seen a number of guest coaches throughout its lengthy history – the formerly Wesley Blake can now add his name to the list.

Per Fightful Select, the now-Westin Blake was taking classes at the WWE PC recently. It’s said that he’s well-respected within the Center, owing to his tenure at the PC. Furthermore, it’s said that people from “several companies” have pushed for Blake to get a look in.

Wesley Blake was cut from WWE in April 2021, ending his eight-year tenure. During that time, he was aligned first with Buddy Murphy, and subsequently with Jaxson Ryker and Steve Cutler in The Forgotten Sons. The former of those alliances saw Blake hold the NXT Tag Team Championships for 219 days.

At the time of his release, Wesley had most recently been aligned with Cutler and King Corbin on Friday Night SmackDown, returning to the blue brand after months of time away, owing to Jaxson Ryker’s controversial social media comments. This alliance, however, ended when Steve Cutler was released in February 2021.

Blake and Cutler have since reformed on the independent circuit as The Prisoners of Society, holding the Wrestling REVOLVER’s Tag Team Championships. Blake has also been involved in the Control Your Narrative organisation, as well as making his AEW debut on a recent Dark broadcast.
