Toxic Attraction will replace Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark in tonight’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships tournament opening round contest!
News of WWE’s eight-team tournament for the vacant championships was met with shock when just one NXT 2.0 pairing was featured – and it wasn’t Toxic Attraction. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne have run rampant over NXT’s women’s doubles division, and were thus favourites to win the whole tournament.
They will, however, enter after all, per PWInsider’s Mike Johnson. Nikkita Lyons is reportedly absent from tonight’s SmackDown broadcast in Montreal, with Dolin and Jayne instead being brought in.
There’s no word on if this will be an official main roster call-up for Toxic Attraction, nor if Mandy Rose will be alongside them.
Officially formed last August, Toxic Attraction has been a driving force behind NXT 2.0, constantly being positioned at the top of the championship picture. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne have held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships twice, first lifting the titles from Io Shirai and Zoey Stark at the 2021 Halloween Havoc special.
News of their main roster appearance will come as bad news to the likes of Booker T, who believes they should remain in NXT 2.0. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer believes that removing the trio from the brand will leave a huge gap, though to counterbalance his argument, Booker is adamant they’ll thrive on the main roster.
