Killer Kross could be set to return to WWE under the Triple H regime, having previously bombed when Vince McMahon held the pen.

Per Fightful Select, the two-time NXT Champion has at least been discussed for a potential WWE return. There’s no news on how far the discussions went, but it’s noted that many within the industry expect him to re-sign.

Kross, who went by Karrion Kross in WWE, was one of several cut by the company on 4 November. His release came after a failed attempt at a repackaging on the main roster, complete with a quick loss to Jeff Hardy on his first night.

In NXT, however, the 37-year-old was presented as a top-tier Superstar. The production of his character was done immensely well, so much so that he was almost unrecognisable upon joining the red brand.

Interestingly, Killer Kross was reportedly scheduled to appear for Ring Of Honor at Supercard of Honor before Tony Khan took over ownership of the promotion. Similarly, he was allegedly due to wrestle Wardlow in AEW before he passed on the opportunity.

Kross has remained a fixture on the North American independent circuit since being let go from WWE, wrestling for MLW, NJPW, and Warrior Wrestling, amongst others. He last faced Davey Boy Smith Jr. – ironically enough someone also released on 4 November – as part of the Ric Flair’s Last Match card.
