Ex-NXT Champion claims no ‘global’ competition exists for WWE.
In the next few hours, WWE is set to begin its brand new era with the Raw Netflix premiere. Announced last year as a $5 billion deal over ten years, the agreement will see Raw move to Netflix in the United States of America and all other content in the international market.
With several repeated sellout shows in the past year, former NXT Champion and current WWE star, Karrion Kross believes the promotion has no existing global competition. Speaking on the Chazz Palminteri Show, Kross was asked about the promotion’s competitors. Without demeaning any company, the Final Testament leader claimed that while many believe themselves to be competition, there exists none.
“There are companies that would consider that they’re competing with them, and I’m not throwing shade at anybody, I’m just saying as politely and as professionally as I can, they are in the global market, and the metrics that are measurable on paper that they pull in in terms of grossing revenue annually from United States, Canada, Mexico, all over the world, if you’re talking about competing with them on that level, nobody is. No, [nobody’s close to WWE.”

A close competitor to the Stamford-based promotion in the pro-wrestling industry, Tony Khan’s AEW signed a multi-year deal at an average value of roughly $185 million annually in October 2024. Similar to WWE’s Netflix streaming, AEW will be available to simulcast on the Max streaming platform.
Triple H Confirms WWE SmackDown’s Future Runtime
This year on the 3rd January 2025 episode of SmackDown, the blue brand broadcasted its first three-hour show. Widely known for its two-hour structure, SmackDown’s latest format brought several changes and a brand-new look.
However, according to reports, it might not continue for long. Speaking with Pat McAfee on the Pat McAfee Show, Triple H confirmed that SmackDown will move back to two hours later. However, no official timeline was provided.
