A former WWE star and indie standout has signed a deal with AEW and Ring of Honor.
Following back to back appearances at Ring of Honor’s PPVs, it’s been reported Blake Christian has signed a deal with ROH/AEW per Fightful Select. It’s still unconfirmed whether said deal is full-time or tiered.
Christian wrestled on the pre-show of both Supercard of Honor and Death Before Dishonor, losing to Colt Cabana in the former and a trios match against the Embassy in the latter.
Christian signed a deal with WWE in early 2021, making his NXT debut accepting Kushida’s Cruiserweight Championship open challenge on June 15. Christian would take part of the 2021 Breakout Tournament defeating Joe Gacy in the first round, but losing to Odyssey Jones in the semifinals.
Christian was released from WWE on November 4, alongside the likes of Killer Kross, Keith Lee, Mia Yim & Athena. His last major televised match was a one-minute loss to Dante Chen on the second episode of NXT 2.0 before another defeat against Grayson Waller on the October 8th edition of 205 Live.
Since his release, Christian has worked for numerous indie promotions, including GCW, BEYOND, PWG and Warrior Wrestling, as well as making appearances for IMPACT Wrestling, NJPW and working a few AEW Dark tapings.
Christian’s latest major singles matches were against a world championship bout against Jon Moxley at The People vs. GCW and against Hiromu Takahashi at NJPW’s Music City Mayhem.
