A former Money in the Bank winner and Universal Champion slammed World Wrestling Entertainment for letting him go.
On May 2, 2025, Braun Strowman was released from his WWE contract. This marked the culmination of his second run, having already been let go in early 2021, only to return a year later. During his decade-plus stint in the Stamford-based wrestling promotion, The Monster Among Men carved out a place for himself and was very popular among the masses.
But then, on the other end of the spectrum lay Strowman’s consistent injuries, which forced him to sit on the bench for prolonged periods. His last WWE run had a year-long gap owing to two significant injuries: requiring a cervical fusion surgery on his neck and a groin injury.
While this could be one of the reasons the Stamford-based promotion was forced to let him go, Strowman has given another reason for his exit.
Braun Strowman Slams WWE For Poor Business Decision
The Monster Among Men is still featured in WWE’s graphics, supposedly giving some depth to the earlier reports that the company will continue to work with him in some form or fashion, despite his release.
One fan on X/Twitter noted Strowman’s continued presence despite him no longer being under a contract, pointing out the SummerSlam pre-show highlights and the new Netflix special WWE: Unreal, both of which featured the former Universal Champion. The fan questioned the company’s decision to let him go, even tagging the Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
Braun Strowman had a bold response to this, claiming that WWE made a poor business decision. He wrote that it came from “someone,” refusing to name any individual. Whether this controversial comment has depth remains to be addressed by the parties involved.
Cause someone made a stupid business decision!!!!” Braun Strowman wrote.
The 2018 Money in the Bank winner’s final storyline was against Jacob Fatu on Friday Night SmackDown. This feud took place on The Road to WrestleMania 41, with The Samoan Werewolf ultimately overcoming the 385-pound monster. Whether Strowman returns to WWE TV in the future bears watching.
